I made myself a snowball As perfect as could be. I thought I'd keep it as a pet And let it sleep with me. I made it some pajamas And a pillow for its head Then last night it ran away, But first- it wet the bed.
I really don't remember any short stories I have read in the past. Obviously I haven't come across one that I have liked because I can't remember any. Maybe I will enjoy the one we are reading in class.
I think students today do not value there education as much as Sara did. During Sara's childhood she always had to sacrifice and make the best of each situation. This mindset stayed with her in her journey for an education. She would always study and learn more in school to make sure she wasn't wasting anything but gaining the best from the situation. Today students are very lazy and unappreciative of school, because it is easier to make a living then it was back then.

"There's nothing hard about writing. All you have to do is sit down and open up a vein."
- Walter "Red" Smith
I feel this statement is very true. When I am writing I always seem to hit a wall blocking all of my ideas. I realize the only way to pass this wall is to open my mind and clear out all outside thoughts. His statement really seems to help me when I hit a writing block.

In our group today we discussed the Father's scene with Berel Bernstein. In this scene we felt Berel was trying to snap the father into reality. He was trying to explain that the father was being lazy, relying on his daughters for money. We felt the father should realize that his family needs his support, not through the Torah, but by getting a job. He cannot just rely on his daughters because sooner or later they will be gone.
